September 2010 HIPAA Webinars
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1997 covers much more than just privacy, yet HIPAA Privacy tends to cause more confusion and take more time to administer than any other portion of the law. In addition, ARRA amendments to HIPAA Privacy and the Breach Notification Rules require that companies take another look at their current policies.
Our upcoming webinar series will cover these changes and the basics of the Privacy and Security Rules. You'll leave with the knowledge to implement effective policies and procedures for your organization. Depending on your experience with HIPAA Privacy and the design of your company's health plan, you may wish to sign up for one, two, or all three sessions. Session material will be available for download one day prior to each webinar.
Session 2: HIPAA Privacy and Security for Self-Funded Group Health Plans
This session will move beyond the basics and dig into the requirements of HIPAA Privacy that must be followed by sponsors of self-funded group health plans. We will discuss in-depth the minimum necessary rule, development of a functional and compliant privacy policy, and practical tools to administer this complex law. We will also discuss what the HIPAA Security Rule requires, and help you develop an action plan for compliance. All self-funded employers are encouraged to attend.
