No Extension for the ARRA COBRA Subsidy Program

The United States Senate adjourned without extending the COBRA subsidy program beyond March 31, 2010. Employees who are involuntarily terminated after March 31, 2010 will not be eligible for any COBRA subsidies. The Senate is scheduled to return April 12 at which time it is expected they will consider legislation approved by the House that would extend the subsidy program through April. The Senate previously approved a bill that would extend the program through December 31, 2010. Stay tuned….
