12 of 50: Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS)
The mission of DAIS (Domestic Abuse Intervention Services) is to support and empower survivors of domestic violence and advocate for social change through community education and outreach. In 2014, thanks to a successful capital campaign, DAIS was able to advance its important work by moving into the newly built Mortenson Family Center for Hope and Safety on Madison’s Northside.
Today, DAIS not only serves as the only emergency domestic violence shelter in Dane County, it provides crucial services to the greater community, services that help people better understand the causes—and solutions—to domestic violence.
Giving hope, creating a healing space, and bringing a problem into the light
M3 sees the mission of DAIS as a vital one, and we’re proud to be a longtime financial supporter. DAIS and its dedicated staff are on the front lines of helping to solve a social problem that’s remained in the shadows for far too long. And M3 understands, when companies publicly pledge their support to DAIS the impact stretches beyond the dollars, it actually sends an important message to abuse survivors:
