14 of 50: Hard Hats with Heart

The mission of the American Heart Association (AHA) is to help people live healthier lives that are free from the devastating effects of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Through its education, research, and advocacy efforts, the AHA has made significant progress in helping to reduce mortality rates from heart disease and stroke. These achievements are made possible largely through compelling events that generate awareness—and donation dollars.

Hard Hats with Heart is a great example. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the construction industry has higher rates of cardiovascular disease compared to other industries. Hard Hats with Heart sheds light on this problem and promotes ways for those in construction to live healthier lives.

Getting involved, raising awareness

M3 has been a long-time supporter of the AHA through financial contributions and volunteering. Hard Hats with Heart is a recent addition to AHA events, and we want to be a big part in helping its continued success. For example, Brad Winchester, an Account Executive at M3, has served on the Hard Hats with Heart committee since the event’s inception. In fact, he was recently elected committee chair.

M3 has specialists that work every day with clients in the construction industry. We want them to be successful in a business sense, of course, but we also care about the health and well-being of their employees.

M3 was one of the first companies to jump on board and support the inaugural Hard Hats with Heart in 2016. Brad Winchester stepped forward in a leadership role on the event committee and has been a huge asset, helping to raise over $200,000 in the last two years.  Brad’s leadership, drive, and dedication to the AHA’s mission and the health of the construction industry made him the perfect fit to chair the 2018 Hard Hats with Heart.
