33 of 50: Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic
For the Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic, “Everyone deserves a healthy smile.” Each year the WCCDC helps thousands of children and hundreds of adults with their dental care needs. As one of the nation’s top safety net dental clinics, the non-profit focuses on improving access to care for low-income and underinsured adults and children, as well as people who have special cognitive and physical challenges.
The clinic’s mission encompasses not only clinical services but also education and advocacy. For the WCCDC, oral health is an integral part of an overall healthy life, and it’s proud to report that nearly 75% of patients have no new decay at their recare visit.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry has recognized the WCCDC for setting a national standard for dental clinics that specialize in serving children in need.
Supporting Community-Based Organizations Is Who We Are
M3’s own Alicia Kiser donates her volunteer time off to help with the WCCDC’s HR needs. For Alicia, it’s a great feeling to give to an organization that plays such a huge role in helping so many people secure a healthy dental future. But Alicia’s time at the clinic is even more special considering that her mom is the executive director.
M3 gets involved in other ways as well, including participating in the clinic’s annual signature event, Laugh for a Smile, and contributing a multi-year grant.
The success of its Waukesha location has recently led to the WCCDC opening another clinic in Menomonee Falls, which means even more people are served by this important community-based organization. Both the passion and the performance of the WCCDC is the kind of thing that inspires us at M3.
The Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic is so grateful for the partnership with M3 Insurance, one that has allowed us to address access to affordable dental care for low-income families. M3’s financial support has allowed us to provide 100 kids each year with exams and a cleaning. Together we are making more smiles healthy.
