Regional Stay-at-Home Updates

COVID-19

States throughout the Upper Midwest continue to evolve their rules when it comes to their stay-at-home orders. This includes the termination, expiration and/or alteration of those orders.

Here are the most recent updates to orders in states throughout the Upper Midwest:

Wisconsin

On May 13th, Wisconsin’s “Stay-at-Home” order was mostly overturned by the State Supreme Court. However some local and tribal government units have implemented their own stay-at-home orders.

Illinois

Illinois continues their stay-at-home order until the end of May, with some modifications for business.

Iowa

Iowa has not issued a statewide stay-at-home order.

Michigan

Michigan is currently in a stay-at-home order until May 28th. The state has loosened restrictions for certain businesses and have released a Six-Step Safe Start Plan for a gradual reopening.

Minnesota

On Monday, May 18th, Minnesota’s stay-at-home order partially expired, with continued limits in place until May 31st. The Governor issued Emergency Order #20-56 to guide a safe reopening.

Key Takeaway

Emergency orders and their specific directives and guidance continue to vary by state, are quite fluid and are not uniform in their specifics. Decision makers in your organization would be well served to thoroughly review emergency orders in the states in which you operate to understand how these orders affect your operations
