Regional Stay-at-Home Updates
In the past week, states throughout the Upper Midwest have extended or altered their stay-at-home orders with extended dates and/or changes to essential business rules.
Here is an overview of those orders:
On Monday, April 27, the State issued Emergency Order #34, which allowed for greater “minimum basic operations” for non-essential businesses.
On Thursday, April 23, the Governor of Illinois extended their Stay-at-Home order until the end of May with modifications for business operations.
On Friday, April 24, the Governor of Michigan extended their Stay-at-Home order until May 15 with certain changes for business operations.
On Thursday, April 23, the Governor of Minnesota issued Executive Order #20-40, allowing workers in certain non-essential businesses to return to work.
For an update on all states, our national partner, the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB) has compiled a state-by-state update on how each state is handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
Emergency orders and their specific directives and guidance vary by state, are quite fluid and are not uniform in their specifics. Decision makers in your organization would be well served to thoroughly review emergency orders in the states in which you operate to understand how these orders will affect your operations.
