M3 Releases Wellness Trend Report

Employee Benefits

M3’s Wellness Trend Report focuses on workplace wellness programs in Wisconsin.

Workplace wellness programs have become widely implemented by Wisconsin employers. According to the newly released M3 Wellness Trend Report, 77% of employers are now offering at least one component of a worksite wellness program. The reasons for worksite wellness programs can widely vary, but many employers are beginning to utilize an emerging concept, Value On Investment (VOI), to measure the success of their programs.

Other key findings from the report include:

  • Over 70% of organizations are providing incentives in their wellness programs to drive participation, although the amount and types of incentives can vary greatly by employer.
  • Employers who offer health risk assessments and bio-metric screenings have the highest level of participation of any wellness component, with participation rates ranging from 76-100%.
  • Tying employee incentives to results, known as health-contingent programs, are on the rise. This way of incentivizing employees is seen to drive accountability and experienced a 21% increase since 2014.

Data from the report is intended to provide organizations with benchmarks to determine how their current workplace wellness offerings stack up. This report is the second of its kind that M3 has released and is based on data obtained from M3 clients through voluntarily survey participation. Results were compiled using responses from executives and human resource professionals at more than 375 of M3’s Wisconsin-based clients.
