M3 has named Dan Ross Managing Director of Northern Illinois, bringing a respected business and community advocate with deep ties to northern Illinois to the firm’s Rockford market.
Ross will lead M3’s growth plans across the region, working with the Rockford team to deliver an exceptional experience for local businesses and individuals. Since partnering with a local insurance agency in 2021, M3 has grown its Rockford team to nearly 20 professionals specializing in business insurance and employee benefits.
“Dan Ross joining our team reinforces our commitment to Rockford and Northern Illinois,” says Mike Victorson, CEO of M3. “At a time when disruptive consolidation continues to transform our industry, M3 remains proudly private and independent. And that independence allows us to focus on creating long-term opportunities for our colleagues, delivering trusted advice to our clients, cultivating strong carrier partnerships, and making meaningful contributions to the communities we serve.”
With broad experience in insurance, finance, operations, and community leadership, Ross previously spent more than 14 years with Williams-Manny, where he served as president and chief financial officer and oversaw customer service, accounting, information technology, facilities and human resources. Most recently, he served as president of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, working with donors and community partners to address needs and pursue opportunities throughout the region.
His relationship with M3 spans two decades through previous roles in the insurance industry. One experience in particular shaped his view of the firm: When one of his business partners retired unexpectedly, M3 stepped in to help the agency maintain its book of business while it pursued a long-term solution.

“I have always had the utmost respect for M3 and its leadership, so when I had the opportunity to join the team, it was an easy decision,” said Ross. “I’m thrilled to help M3 grow in the region that has been my home for most of my life. My goal is to build on the Rockford team’s success and ensure area businesses see M3 as an extension of their own teams, in times of prosperity and when challenges arise.”
