C.S. Lewis once said, “True humility is not thinking less of yourself; it is thinking of yourself less.”
I’ve been mulling this over lately, especially in relation to our new Madison office space. M3’s new building is pretty spectacular, with its inviting meeting areas, beautiful furniture, the latest technology, and amazing views of Lake Monona.
But how do we stay humble about having the chance to work in this space? Sometimes in an effort to be humble, we end up talking way too much about how humble we are. Instead, we want to focus on why we moved here in the first place.
Our new building is a reflection of what M3 stands for – a space designed to serve people and encourage the concept of team. We created a place that attempts to nurture the creative spirit and take care of those most important to us: M3ers, our clients, our insurance companies, and our community partners. It’s exciting to see how this space impacts our ability to keep these constituencies and partnerships at the center of our work.
A building, no matter how cool, is still just a building. The humble action of people willing to think about themselves less in order to put other people first is what makes an impact and leaves a legacy. Let’s do this…
