Forensic Interviewing-Ask the Right Questions

Date & Time:

10:00 am – 11:15 am

Overview:

In suspected abuse or maltreatment cases in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, group home residential settings and educational environments, child and adult protection professionals must respond swiftly and effectively in a manner that avoids re-traumatizing the affected individuals while still being able to gather pertinent information.

Forensic interviews play a key role in in determining whether abuse or neglect has occurred. Properly conducted forensic interviews are legally sound in part because they ensure the interviewer’s objectivity, employ non-leading techniques, and emphasize careful documentation of the interview.

Adam Nagel, Lieutenant with the Appleton Police Department and Jeff Miller, Education Compliance Manager with Innovative Solutions team up for this webinar focused on techniques and best practices used in forensic interviewing. The session will cover how these techniques can elicit more accurate information and limit trauma to better protect your organization from liability and create a safer environment for residents, students, and staff.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Five Tips for Successful Interviews
  • Interviewing Techniques for Children, Children and Adults with Disabilities and Adults living with Dementia
