Date & Time:

3:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Overview:

M3’s Cindy Van Asten and Chris Kenyon will be featured presenters at this year’s Wisconsin Hospital Association (WHA) 2022 Wisconsin Rural Health Conference as a part of M3’s Premier Partnership with WHA. This is a statewide forum meant to highlight public policy and operations issues affecting rural health care, understand how the delivery and access of rural health care is changing, and identify how to leverage people processes, technology, and data to improve care for rural populations.

M3 Insurance featured session:

Kenyon and Van Asten will team up to lead Breakout Session C, “Strategies to Reduce Labor Needs and Keep Up with the Demand for Health Care”. This session will discuss workforce shortage as a significant challenge as a result of COVID-19. According to the Wisconsin Department of Administration, it is projected that between 2015 and 2040, we will see an increase of 72% of the 65+ year-old population. As the demand for health care services increases, the supply for workforce is decreasing. With the lack of health care employees, providers need to think creatively.

During the informational session with Kenyon and Van Asten, attendees will hear recommendations moving forward. For example, they will recommend that providers start conversations on how to work with current full-time equivalents (FTEs) while looking for ways to reduce the need in the future.

Who should attend:

CEOs, administrators, chief financial officers, controllers, chief medical officers, medical directors, nurse executives, marketing or public relations directors, risk managers, quality managers, public health officials, and hospital board members of rural health care organizations.
